His real name was José de Jesús Ortiz Velázquez, and he was born on June 11, 1924, in Veracruz, Mexico. Tun Tun began his acting career in the early 1940s and soon after moved to Mexico City to work in the thriving entertainment industry there. He appeared in numerous films and television shows, often playing comic relief characters that stole the scene with their wit and charm.
